Release Notes: 2017-04-06

Here are the notes related to the portal update released on April 6th, 2017:

  • Email Verification Process Updates
    • We just updated our process for validating contact emails associated to companies in the system so that we can validate large numbers of emails with more frequency.
    • This will help save our research team some time with general data administration, and give them more time to help find our subscribers more producers for more chemicals.
    • This change also involved changing the way we store emails in the database  and allows us to be more flexible with emails in the future. For example we may decide we want to be able to add multiple email addresses to a contact, company or location. This change to how we store emails will make that much easier to build.
  • Bug Fixes
    • We fixed an issue with the management of the types of documents that could be added to companies
    • There was a possible issue where two users could have the same user name. This has been fixed.
    • Some companies could add a location to a country, but then wouldn’t be able to edit that location due to the country not having a state or province associated to it. State/province was required, but no option was available to enter. This has been fixed.

Release Notes: 2017-03-16

Here are the notes related to the portal update released on March 16th, 2017.

We found that some users didn’t know that the system still had the function to create emails to all companies listed on the page. Some users also didn’t know that the print and download buttons gave them not just the company names shown on the screen, but also all of the contact information. So we made the following changes to the layout when looking at lists of companies:

  • Moved the three action buttons to the left of the company list and renamed them like so:
    • “Download” became “Download Contacts as an Excel File”
    • “Print” became “Download Contacts as a PDF File”
    • “Mail”became “Email Contacts from Listed Companies”
  • Layout Tweaks
    • Collapsed all filters by default to save some space
      • If you “open” a filter it will stay open from page to page. So the ones you use most often will stay open.
    • Moved the “Sort By” field above the filters
    • Made some other color/layout tweaks to make the page easier to scan

This should make the page easier to use, but let us know if you are having any issues with these changes by emailing us at techsupport@chemicalinfo.com.

Here are the notes related to the portal update released on March 9th, 2017:

  • E-commerce Data
    • Companies can have “e-commerce” links on their profile view.
    • This will only show up if a link has been supplied.
  • E-Commerce Filter
    • This will let a user filter a list of companies to only show companies that have e-commerce links.
    • We don’t have a ton of this data yet, but will be adding more and more now that it is in the system.
  • No Results Found Screen
    • We updated the layout of the no results found message, and added a big orange “Ask our research team!” button.
    • Use the big orange button to send in requests to our research team if you are looking for producers of a chemical or a specific company, but not having any luck finding it in our system.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Cleaned up some companies that were linked when they shouldn’t be in the Trade Data
