Chemical Information Services (“CIS”) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information that you provide to us when using our web sites. This privacy policy describes how we treat personal information received about you when you visit our web sites. We may make content or services from other web sites available to you from links on our web site, however these other web sites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. We recommend that you review the privacy policy at each such web site to determine how that site protects your privacy.
1. LICENSE. CIS grants Licensee a non-exclusive, non-assignable, non-transferable, limited license to access and use directories and other online services shown on Licensee’s purchase invoice (the “Services”) for the Term of this Agreement.
General
Your right to privacy is important to CIS. CIS believes that the personal information you choose to furnish online or otherwise should be used to help us to provide you with the highest quality service and support possible. If you send us an email or contact us through the web site’s feedback mechanism, we will collect such personally identifiable information as you provide through that email communication. Our registration forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. Text), address, interests, or other similar information. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers.
Web Site Usage
CIS may collect IP addresses and web site usage information from you when you visit our web sites. This information helps us evaluate how our visitors and subscribers use and navigate our web sites on an aggregated basis, including the number and frequency of visitors to each web page, and the length of their visits.

Registering for and attending webinars is entirely voluntary. You, therefore, have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. e-Newsletters
From time to time, CIS will send you our e-mail newsletter, the Chemical Informer, we will use your name and email address to send them to you. In the interest of maintaining your privacy, we provide a means by which you may “unsubscribe” or choose not to receive future messages from us. At the bottom of each email you have the option to “opt-out” of our e-mailing list.
Special Offers and Product Updates
From time to time, CIS will send you information on products, services, promotions, and special events. You may discontinue receiving these emails at any time by following the instructions contained at the bottom of each email you receive.
Customer Service
Based on the personally identifiable information you provide to us, CIS will communicate with you in response to any inquiries, to provide the products and services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email, telephone, and direct mail.
Links to Other Sites
The CIS web site may contain links to other web sites that are not owned or controlled by CIS. These links are provided solely for your convenience. Please be aware that CIS is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other web sites. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by CIS web sites. We recommend that you be aware when you leave a CIS web site and read the privacy statement of each and every web site that collects or attempts to collect personally identifiable information.
Information Sharing
CIS shares aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers. This information does not identify individual users and is used primarily to monitor the performance of campaigns contracted by our partners and advertisers. We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information. Notwithstanding the preceding, CIS may sell or rent to a third party a listing of our users who have subscribed, purchased, or registered for one or more of our products. This listing may include, without limitation, names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. If, at any time, you wish to be excluded from this list, you may notify us vie email or in writing and we will remove your information from all such lists and practices.
Credit Card Transactions
For on-line purchases and transactions, credit card information provided to us is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. Absolutely no use whatsoever is made of credit card information aside from purchases on this site and there is no disclosure to third parties except as required for the on-line credit card processing or as otherwise required under law. We also protect information by placing it on a secure portion of our web sites that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of CIS. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information. The personally identifiable information we collect about you is stored in limited access servers. We will maintain safeguards to protect the security of these servers and your personally identifiable information.
Agents
We may use an outside shipping company to fulfill orders, a credit card processing company to bill you for products and services and other third parties that render services on behalf of CIS that require access to your personally identifiable information. These companies do not retain, share store or use personally identifiable information for any purposes other than to fulfill orders and provide services as directed by CIS.
Communication Preferences You may stop the delivery of one or all types of communications you receive from CIS by following the instructions in the email you receive. You may also proactively manage your communication preferences and update your contact information by clicking on the “Preferences” link at the bottom of any email communication you receive from CIS or by sending an email info@chemicalinfo.com.
Consent
By using a CIS web site, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your information by CIS in the manner described in this Privacy Policy and elsewhere on the CIS web sites.
Legal Disclaimer
CIS reserves the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on CIS or any of the CIS web sites.
Business Transitions
In the event CIS goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personally identifiable information might be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via the CIS web sites of any such change in ownership or control of your personally identifiable information.
Policy Modifications
We may change this Privacy Policy periodically. However, please be assured that if the Privacy Policy changes in the future, we will not use the personal information you have submitted to us under this Privacy Policy in a manner that is materially inconsistent with this Privacy Policy, without prior consent.
